Hello. I am trying to import dates from Thinkific into Zapier, and then transform the format to a different expression before triggering the date to export into my database.

The problem is that the format expression from Thinkific is not in the dropdown selection for the output, and therefore essentially Zapier does not recognise it as a date expression.

Here is what I mean:

Here’s an example of the input data from Thinkific:

None of the formats in Zapier include the ’T’ which is showing after the date and before the hours and minutes.

Here is a screen shot of the closest to it in the Zapier output list:

My question is, is it possible to add the Thinkific date expression shown in Thinkific to Zapier’s  input data format list so that it can then be transformed to another, namely DD-MM-YYYY. How do I get Zapier to recognise Thinkific’s date format?

Hi @Coachbase Training

This is the option to select as it as the “T” between the DD and the HH.

Hey @Coachbase Training

The first date from screenshot contains T

Thank you, but I’m still getting an error - invalid data format. Could it be because the input data is showing 3 places for the seconds, ‘sss Z, whereas the Zapier format is only 2 ‘ss Z?

Here is a screenshot of my Date/Time formatter (The recipient field of the zap in my database is set to receive dd-mm-yyyy)

Sorry for the large images - not sure how to adjust the size!

Hi @Coachbase Training,

Zapier date/time formatting errors often stem from mismatched input formats. Verify your source data, ensuring it aligns with Zapier’s expected structure. Use the Date/Time Formatter to convert the format correctly, adjusting for milliseconds if needed. Test the formatting step to confirm the accuracy and check for error messages that provide troubleshooting insights. If sharing images for support, resize them using tools like Paint or Preview to ensure clarity.

Yes that sounds like the solution, but how do I adjust the formatter to allow for milliseconds when it’s not one of the options showing? Thank you. Could you please give me the steps.

Hi @Coachbase Training,

While milliseconds aren't a default option, you can manually enter a custom format string like YYYY-MM-DDTHH🇲🇲ss.SSSZ in a Formatter step to include them. Add a Formatter action, choose Date/Time, and input your desired format. If this doesn't give the precision you need, you can use a "Code by Zapier" step to write a small JavaScript or Python snippet to format the timestamp exactly as required.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi. Thank you.

That worked!

Wow! Thank you for confirming that our resolution got the Zap running. This will significantly help our Community members to have as a reference for the same issue.
