Question

The Zap moving Evernote tasks to a ToDoist project isn’t working despite correct setup.

I’m trying to create a Zap that takes an Evernote Reminder (now called Tasks) and puts it into a ToDoist project. Everything seems to be set-up correctly based om the green checkmarks and I see the sample Task sent from Zapier in ToDoist.  But when I create the new Evernote Task in the proper notebook nothing happens.

Any help to troubleshoot would be appreciated.

Hi @BruceM

Check your Zap Runs history for activity and possible errors: https://zapier.com/app/history/

The Evernote Zap triggers are scheduled and can take varying amounts of time to fire depending on your Zapier plan.

Thanks @Troy Tessalone.  I see the entire Evernote note in my ToDoist.  What I was hoping to do is anytime I create a new Task (reminder) in Evernote is would create a new task in ToDoist just for that Evernote task. Currently it only updates ToDodist with the full note and not individual tasks

@BruceM

For us to have more context, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode so we can see field types and field descriptions.

@BruceM

If you want data passed from Zap step 1 to Zap step 2, then you need to map dynamic variables using the ‘Custom’ tab between the Zap steps. (doesn’t look like any are mapped based on your screenshots)

Help for action steps: https://zapier.com/help/create/basics/set-up-your-zap-action

Then turn the Zap ON and test live, and check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step: https://zapier.com/app/history/

@Troy Tessalone I really appreciate your responses.  Any chance we could schedule a screenshare for you to walk me through this 1 Zap? It would really help me understand the process.

Thank you for your consideration.

@BruceM

For fields in Zap step 2 that you want to have populated with data points returned from Zap step 1, then you need to use the ‘Custom’ tab to map dynamic variables.

For an input field in step 2, you should see a dropdown list that allows you to select variables from step 1, via the ‘Custom’ tab.

I’m being told by someone that due to the number of steps I will need in this Zap, I cannot create it on the free account and must have a paid for account. Would that also be your understanding?

@BruceM

Zaps with 3+ steps need a Zapier paid plan to be turned ON.

Your previous screenshots show a Zap with only 2 steps.
