Hello,

I have a Zap I'm using to connect Survey Monkey (SM) to my CRM Ontraport (OP). There are just 2 elements I want zapped through.

I'm able to get 1 through but for some reason it is not zapping through the email address - which is kind of important.

I've tried creating a survey with just an email address on it and it wont send that data through. However it does create a new (and blank!) record in OP.

I've tried using the email address collector field in SM, as well as a general comments field acting as an email address field, but still no email goes through. I’ve tried creating surveys with first/last name, email and a question, and none of this personal data is going through.

I currently have active Zaps that send addresses from LinkedIn and Zoom to OP and they are working fine.

Can you share any ideas on how to address this?

Below is a link to a video explaining the issue.

Does SM prevent this type of information being sent to third parties?

Any ideas on how to solve this issue would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @Darren2

Help links for using SurveyMonkey in Zapier: https://zapier.com/apps/surveymonkey/help

I'm getting an error telling me I need to upgrade my Survey Monkey plan to an annual subscription.

The "New Response Notification with Answers" trigger will require you to have any Annual paid plan with Survey Monkey. This includes the Standard Annual, Advantage and Premier plan, which are all annual subscription plans that Survey Monkey offer. This information can be found here: https://help.surveymonkey.com/articles/en_US/kb/SurveyMonkey-Partner-Integrations-Changes

The only paid plan that doesn't work with Zapier integrations is their Standard Monthly plan, which is their only monthly subscription plan.

The Email or Name Fields Are Empty

SurveyMonkey responses have three default fields, Email, First Name, and Last Name. Those will only be populated from your SurveyMonkey address book if you are using an email collector. If you have a question on your survey that asks for their name or email, use the Responses field for that question when you match up the fields.

Respondent ID Is the Only Appearing Field

If your Survey responses fields are not showing up when you are setting up your Zap, you might need to submit or refresh some sample data.

To fix this, simply submit a brand new survey response and fill in an answer for every single question. Once you have submitted that, head back to your Zap and you should then be able to find these.

Some Fields Not Appearing

Do your fields have exactly the same name? If you have more than one question that is exactly the same, we will only see one of those. To resolve this you will need to make sure all of your questions on your survey are unique. If they are and you are still having some trouble, please don't hesitate to get in touch, we're happy to help!

Thanks Troy.

What I’m finding is that at the test stage in the SM part of the zap, the Zap is not recognising the fields in SM - even when they are populated.

This is an image from my test survey as I test the zap. As you can see, the Zap is not seeing the data -even when it is present in the results. (See lower image). You can see that the IP address has been collected (I’ve had to shrink the column in the lower image to fit it all in).

It appears that Zapier does not have access to see these data fields.

Or have I completely stuffed something simple up??

@Darren2

Which SurveyMonkey plan do you have?

Since you are using a custom field to collect email address, you need a certain SurveyMonkey plan (see below) and to use this Zap trigger:

I have a paid account. I have the issue with both the standard email collect field, as well as when using a custom collect field.
