So I think that Stripe the other day issue broke our links. After attempting to process a card transaction customers are getting this: Error message This application does not have the required permissions for this endpoint on account 'acct_1CE5eOFK43NmDIhB'. Having the 'read_write' scope would allow this request to continue.

Help :)

Hi @Chumba

Help us have more context by posting screenshots of the encountered error where it is happening with the surrounding page visible.

Thanks! This is the message that shows after attempting a transaction (I’ve removed the billing info for this screen shot, but everything was fully filled out. Tested the error with a few different transactions.

@Chumba

That looks like a Stripe hosted page.

How is that related to your Zaps or Zapier?

Everything was working great until they had a stripe outage the other day.

@Chumba

The error is occurring on a Stripe hosted page.

I don’t think that error is related to the Zap.

Also, unclear from the Zap steps screenshots what app triggers the Zap step 1 webhook URL.

Feedback from ChatGPT for how to diagnosis and potentially fix, otherwise try reaching out to Stripe Support.

Thanks I made a new API key, but I don’t know how to connect it.

@Chumba

It may be best to try contacting Stripe Support for help with the error on the Stripe hosted page.

trying but not getting anywhere over there yet.

When I try and reconnect in Zapier it doesn’t ask for the API key. This “test” option doesn’t do it.

@Chumba

Try this tip to connect app accounts to Zapier:

Hey @Chumba 👋

I see that you’ve also reached out to our Support team about this and they identified that you’re running into a bug with the Stripe app on Zapier where payment links generated by Create Payment Link actions return a “This application does not have the required permissions for this endpoint on account acc_id] Having the 'read_write' scope would allow this request to continue” error. As Support mentioned, we can’t provide a timeline for a fix, but as you’ve been added to the bug report as an affected user you’ll definitely be sent an email notification as soon as it’s sorted.

There’s no reported workarounds for this at present but if we become aware of any we’ll be sure to share details of them here.

In the meantime, it looks like the API Key is only to be used for connecting to a test Stripe account. If you click that orange Yes, Continue to Stripe button that should go through to a login screen where you should then be able to login into your Stripe account and grant Zapier permission to access it. Can you give that a try and let us know if that gets the Stripe connection added successfully?

Thanks SamB and thanks Troy for your help!
