Some Mystery Issues Blocking Publishing Formatter

Hi Community,
I’m Julz, and new on Zap.
I’m currently on a 14-day Pro trial, using Zapier Learn to practice on Workflow and Automation.
I’m working on a multi-step Zap - Capture, Categorize, & Route. While at the 3rd step, which is to extract  company’s website using Formatter, I followed the demo and did everything right, but the Publish button is blocked, supposedly, due to some issues in the other steps that I must fix.

However, I have gone through the two other steps multiple times, and I can’t find any issues.

Please, can anyone help me with some clarification on the issues could be and how to resolve them?

Or could being on a free trial be the hindrance?

Thanks.

Hi @Lady_Julz-Zaps

A Formatter step can NOT be the last step in a Zap.

For us to have more context about what you are referring to, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined.

Hi @Troy Tessalone

Thanks so much for your reply.

I didn’t realize at the time, that I was supposed to just add the next step, because up until then, I’d just click Publish to take me to the next step.

I appreciate your response.

Hi Julz! In Zapier, the Publish button can be blocked if any previous step isn’t fully configured or tested, even if it looks fine. Try running a Test on each step individually—sometimes hidden errors (like missing sample data) prevent publishing. Being on a trial usually isn’t the issue, but make sure your sample data is valid and all required fields are filled. That usually resolves the problem.
