Greetings, playing almost whole day with it and can’t figure out how to fix it. When you upload first time a file in slack it won’t provide you channel ID but if you do it second time it will. Anyone knows how to fix it? Thanks!

Hi @Stan K

We would need to see detailed screenshots with how your Zap steps are outlined and configured to have full context.

Also, check your Zap Runs history to see which step resulted in an error and to see the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap step.

@Troy Tessalone I’ve provided screenshots, problem is that it only sends “channel data” after you upload same file twice. I’ll add more detailed screenshots.

Structure
First time uploading a file, error that there is missing channel ID
Second time uploading same file into same chat, now everything is ok and it works.

Thanks for your help!

@Stan K

One way to address the error is to add a Filter as Step 2.

If you suspect it’s a bug, then you can try opening a ticket with Zapier Support: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

@Troy Tessalone The point is to upload files if somebody adds new file in a Slack channel. It works but only from second time because no channel ID comes back. And ofc you don’t want a person to upload a file twice only because of it.

@Stan K

It could be that the File is not uploaded to a Channel, perhaps via a private channel or an external connection.
