Hello! I have set up a Zap so when a team member reports customer feedback in slack, I can react with a specific emoji which then creates a new item in a notion database.

Often when you emoji react on a message in slack, other members of the team will click on the emoji too. Is there a way to prevent multiple database items from being created?

Hey @Nicki ,

You can use Filter by Zapier to filter out other users. The filter action will look like If Slack user id equals to “YourId” → Than the Zap will proceed.

Hi @Nicki, welcome to the Community! 🎉

Just wanted to pop in here to note that the New Reaction Added trigger has the ability to limit triggers to a specific user. So if you’re looking to only trigger the Zap for emoji reactions that you personally add, you can select yourself in the User field:

That should ensure that the Zap will only run for the emoji reactions that you add to Slack messages.

Hope that helps. If you run into any issues or have further questions at all just let us know! 🙂
