SFTP by Zapier - Authentication failed: read ECONNRESET

Hi Zapier team,

I’m using the new integration “SFTP By Zapier” but I’m unable to connect on my SFTP server in Zapier. It fails with:

authentication failed: read ECONNRESET

Same SFTP hostname + same username + same private key + same port (22) work fine from other clients (FileZilla/WinSCP), and I don’t have some whitelist or anything…

It only fails with Zapier.

Any ideas what could cause this error?

Sorry to hear that you’re running into that error. If it’s only failing with those credentials when connecting via Zapier then it could be that’s something is blocking Zapier’s access 🤔

Do you know if there’s any firewall in place that might be blocking access? Would also be worth checking with the admin of your SFTP server as they should have access to add Zapier to the allowlist. See our Use a static IP address to connect to Zapier guide for details on the IPs that would need adding.
