I have an Excel spreadsheet, with a number of column headers. Let’s call them, ‘Name’, ‘Date’ and ‘In/Out’.

When I add an entry into the In/Out column, I want Zapier to send an update <name> is <in/out> on <date> to a Slack channel.

I have this set up and it works...partially.

If I add in multiple rows of data, it only sends the last 1 or sometimes 2 records, completely ignoring the other rows that have been added/changed.

My ‘Zap’ looks like this and is set to send data if the ‘in/out’ column changes.

Hi @jp1977,

Welcome to the Community.

Zapier's Excel integration may miss rows if multiple are added between checks, as it triggers only for the most recent row. Solutions include adding rows one at a time, switching to Google Sheets for better performance, and adding a "Processed" column to track rows. Thorough testing is recommended to ensure reliability.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, we need to use Excel for this, as we’re not Google Sheets users in the business. Can you elaborate on how a processed column might work?

Hi @jp1977,

Unfortunately, Microsoft Excel has limited ways to handle new rows. When Zapier checks for new or updated rows in Excel, it only triggers for the latest row added since the last time it checked. If multiple rows are added simultaneously, it may only pick up the last one. The best possible solution is to set up your Zap to trigger on a new row, then use a Delay action to wait a few minutes before sending the Slack message. This would give you time to add multiple rows, and the Zap would then process each one individually. However, this might not be ideal if you need instant notifications.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
