Searching for data in action step before completing action

Hi,

 

It’s been awhile since I’ve done this and so I need a little reminding. But we have a Google sheet and when we mark a cell in a column for a specific contact, it will create a filter that will allow it to proceed if marked ‘yes’. Then for the action, we want to add a tag to the contact in Active Campaign. My thought is, it’s going to have to search for that contact by contact ID in Active Campaign, but not sure how to set that up. I appreciate the help!

You can use this Zap action: ActiveCampaign - Find Contact

If you still need help post screenshots with how your steps are outlined and configured.

Hi,

When I finished the zap I clicked to test it and it worked just fine. So I published the zap and then updated the cell in Google Sheet that would trigger things and it didn’t do anything. Here is a screencast of my zap: https://app.screencast.com/CNx4NAUnKfRYC

@Inventive Guild 

If you already have the AC Contact ID in GSheets then you don’t need Step 3.

The GSheet Zaps trigger in near-real time after a few mins.

Check your Zap Run history for activity to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you troubleshoot.

 

If you still have an issue, can you post screenshots with how the top three rows of your GSheet are configured?

I removed Step 3 and did another test. I created a new test that went into Google sheet which is the Michelle TestFour, https://app.screencast.com/V4UPOOIhS9V5J

Then once the test was added in Google sheet, I added Yes to the PKS Approved column, but it didn’t trigger. Am I missing something in the action step? https://app.screencast.com/EJilOP2xBu8lo

Also, it says to put the contact ID in this part of the action, but it will vary based upon which contact has been updated in the Google sheet. So perhaps I haven’t set this up correctly as it seems it would need to search for the contact that was update in Google sheets in Active Campaign before adding a tag. https://app.screencast.com/ZrTErN4iFqAs4
