Question

"Run Agent" button disabled. Why won't my agents run?

I have several agents that run daily.  I recently cloned one and made some changes.  It tested OK but it’s flaky. i.e. a few things (Like sending emails to each person appearing in a table that it verified it sees) are not happening.  When I went back to the agents page and clicked the three dots to do a trial run, the option is disabled.  Checking the other agents: Same thing.  I am nowhere near the limits on tasks and activities.

What the heck could this be?

Thanks

Hi there @Brant, welcome to the Community! 🎉

Sorry to hear that your agents are no longer running. That’s really strange, if there’s enough activities available then you should still be able to run the Agent. I can see you’ve already reached out to our Support team about this though which is perfect, they’ll be able to take a closer look into those agents to investigate what’s going on.

In the meantime, are you still able to click the Preview button (at the bottom of the screen when editing an agent) and run a test that way? Or is that option disabled as well?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi

Thank you… Yes everything else seems to be running ok.  I can’t understand why the “Run Agent” buttons don’t work but everything else is working.

There is new architecture with the knowledge base vs using tools to make connections.  I’m working on getting this to work.  How can I learn more about how to make that work?

Thanks for getting back to me @Brant. Glad to hear everything else is working at least! 😅

I checked on this end and couldn’t see any similar reports coming in about the Run Agent buttons not working. So I’m wondering if perhaps it’s due to something on the setup of the agent. 🤔

Can you share a screenshot of the setup of one of those agents? That’ll allow us see what trigger and tools have been selected. Make sure you remove any personal info like names, emails etc. from screenshots before sharing (you can use a tool like Zappy for that).

We have a guide on how to set up the agent to work with knowledge sources that you might find helpful: Add your own data to an agent. Although, if the knowledge source you want to use isn’t available you can still use a search action type of tool to obtain the necessary information, so you might not need to change all of the agents. Hope that helps!
