Hello Zapier Support,

I’m trying to build a Zap that automatically sends an email through Outlook when a project phase changes in my CMS (Filevine).

  • Trigger: Filevine → Project Phase Changed

  • Action: Outlook → Send Email

  • Issue: When I test the trigger, Zapier pulls in some project fields (name, ID, etc.), but it does not pull in the client’s email or phone number. Without that, I can’t map the “To” field in Outlook.

In Filevine, the client’s email is stored under their contact role (Client). Is there a way for Zapier to access the contact role fields, or do I need to surface the client’s email via a custom field in Filevine so Zapier can pull it?

I even tried putting the email for my client in another static section.

Could you confirm if the Filevine integration supports pulling client contact details (email/phone), and if not, what the recommended workaround is?

Thanks for your help,

Hi @SIF

You can try adding a Filevine “Find” step to find the record to see if that returns the email address to use.

Hi @SIF

You can try adding a Filevine “Find” step to find the record to see if that returns the email address to use.

How do you do that?

@SIF

Review the available Filevine Zap triggers/actions: https://zapier.com/apps/filevine/integrations#triggers-and-actions

Search for “Find”.

Hey @SIF, just checking in 👋 Were you able to locate the Find Contact Filevine search action and use it to get the contact’s email?

Let us know if you still need any help, want to make sure you’re all good here! 🙂
