Records jump to the bottom after editing in Zapier Tables

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed what seems to be a bug in Zapier Tables that’s making it difficult to work efficiently.

I have a Table connected to a Zapier Form, where new records are added by default at the top of the table, which is perfect.

However, every time I edit a record manually, that record jumps to the bottom of the table.

This is really confusing, because if I try to keep working on the same record, I might accidentally edit the next record that has now moved up to the top. I then have to scroll all the way down or refresh the page to find the record again, which resets it to its correct position, but that’s obviously not a practical workflow.

It would make much more sense for records to stay pinned in their original position when updated.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix or setting that prevents records from moving after manual edits?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Here’s a new record when it comes in (Row 1)
Here’s the same record after I manually update a field (Row 58)
Here’s the same record when I refresh the page (Row 1)

Hi @Candice

That may be due to how you have the Table sorted by a Field.

Thank you, Troy. I removed the sorting and it was fixed.

Hi @Candice, this usually happens if your Table is sorted by a field. When you edit a record, it temporarily moves based on that sort. Adjusting the sort or using a field that keeps new/edited records at the top should fix it.

Thanks for confirming that Troy was right about it being caused by the table’s sorting, @Candice. Really appreciate you letting us know and marking the Best Answer - it helps surface the solution for others in the Community 🤗 And thank you @Troy Tessalone, for the super quick help on this! 🙌
