Over the past few days we have started encountering the following error on various Google Drive steps across our automations:

This Google Drive step hit an error The app returned "Quota exceeded for quota metric 'Queries' and limit 'Queries per minute' of service 'drive.googleapis.com' for consumer 'project_number: xxxxxxxxxxx’

Doing a little research myself I have found the following information:

  • If Zapier is connected to Google using OAuth, then it's leveraging Zapier's Google API credentials rather than your Google Cloud project. In this case, you can’t view API usage specific to Zapier calls in your Google Cloud Console.
  • You cannot track API usage directly, but you can contact Zapier support to ask for an estimate of your API call usage.

Any assistance/guidance on how to overcome this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @DPS
Try adding a Delay (After Queue) step to the Zap to space out the requests.

Hi there @DPS! 👋

How are things going—did that Delay action Troy suggested do the trick?

Looking forward to hearing from you! 🙂
