Hi!
I’m afraid that won’t be possible since we are posting to Mighty Networks based on the user that created the connection.
One idea would be to create a generic user that you could connect to Mighty Networks. That will stop any personal information getting tied to the post itself.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
Hi Shane,
Thank you for your response. That is as I suspected, which is a shame because into Slack it works find and can pull the name and profile picture from Mighty Networks. Is that just because Mighty Networks has more secure identity verification or something?
Your proposed solution is basically what we were settling on - having an admin called ‘Message from Slack’ and then having the name of the user in bold or something in the message to ensure its obvious.
Let me know if you have any other ideas but thank you anyway for your help.
Best,
Ryan
Hi Ryan,
Depending on the number of people posting to the Slack channel and whether they are all in your Slack workspace, you could do the following. It would work if it is only a couple, but it could get sticky pretty quickly.
Have each person connect to the Mighty Networks app in your Zapier account. Next, you could run a path based on the user who posted on the channel. Then, use their path to send it from their connected account.
You can find more information about Paths by Zapier at the link below.

Have a great weekend, and let us know if you need anything else!
Thank you Shane. That was super helpful!
We now have a bigger issue(s):
- When we are sending content from Mighty Networks to Slack we were specifying which Space in Mighty Networks to monitor. Then we can replicate the channels in each and make sure the content is posted in both places once we do. For some reason we now cannot specific the Space when setting up a Zap to take messages from MN to Slack. Any ideas why this might be the case?
- We have old Zaps which were performing this ^ function but they have been deleted. I can see them in the trash but cannot view or restore them. Can you help me?
