Question

Outlook Emails to Populate CRM on Monday.com

I want to set up a zap so that when I receive a new email into my outlook account, then it will add it to my CRM on Monday.com. However, I only want it to add the contact info (Email address & Name) if it is not already in my CRM on Monday.com, Hence preventing My CRM from showing a bunch of duplicate contacts if someone were to email me twice. Please find pictures below.

Hey there @Mac Cimm. Welcome to the Community! 🎉

I believe the Find User by Name would search for a user account in Monday.com, not a contact (item) on your “Contact List” board. So I’d suggest trying the Get Item by Column Value action instead of the Find User by Name action. That should allow the Zap to search all the items in your Contact List board to look for an existing contact item that matches.

With that search action, if no match is found then the Zap Search Was Found Status field will contain a value of false, so you’d need to set up your filter rule condition like this instead:

Hope that helps to get you pointed in the right direction. If you run into any issues on that or have further questions just let us know! 🙂

Hi @Mac Cimm, just checking in! 👋

How did you get on with that Get Item by Column Value action I suggested?

Looking forward to hearing from you! 🙂
