I have integrated Google Forms and OpenAI to create a prompt but the response from Chat GPT keeps cutting off after a few paragraphs.

Have i got my set up wrong or is this a common occurrence?

Hi @Dantango80

Good question.

Try adjusting this parameter.

Thanks for responding,

I have managed to get this up to 800 but anything above I get this message;

The limit is meant to be just over 2k so I am not sure if there is an adjustable wait time within Zapier?

@Dantango80

Zap steps have timeouts, meaning the Zap step must complete before reaching the timeout, otherwise you will encounter the error.

Zap steps have a 30 second timeout.

This could also be impacted by slowdown with the OpenAI API, which you can’t control.

That is frustrating. So there is no workaround for this?

@Dantango80

Without having more context about what you are trying configure in the OpenAI step, it’s tough to say. (screenshots)

I am compiling the answers from my form to create a detailed prompt for Chat GPT

@Dantango80

Check the Model field description.

You can also try this same prompt in https://chat.openai.com/ and time how long it takes to run to give yourself a better sense of why the Zap step may be encountering an error.

Hey there, @Dantango80! I wanted to check in and see how this was coming along?

I did want to share some OpenAI help docs regarding their rate limits. I’m not certain what plan you’re on or how big/many steps are in your zap but at the low end it’s limited to 20 requests per minute.

Keep us posted!

Hi. I have the exact same problem. The question is: is there a way to adjust the timeout in Zapier?

I already know what the problem is:

Openai takes more than 30s to generate most of my requests (biographies). This can't be changed.

Hey there, @Blaque and @Dantango80! Thanks for flagging this here in community.

I double checked with the team and as of yesterday they actually doubled the threshold to 60s for OpenAI!

We’ll continue monitoring things on our end to see if that helps with these errors. I want to be sure to mention though this may not entirely fix it since another possibility is OpenAI isn’t responding at all.

Keep us posted though! 🙂

Hey friends! I wanted to point anyone who may have stumbled on this thread to the new main topic 👇🏽

To streamline info, I’ll be closing this thread down for comments and we’ll be sharing any updates there ^.

Thanks in advance for your help!
