Question

OneDrive Find folder does not work

I am trying to use “Find folder in OneDrive” step. Tried many different options but it seems to be broken. Let’s say I provide the name “Folder1” in the root folder. It says it couldn’t find the folder, even if it exists.

Going further, when I mark option to create a folder when it does not exist, it gets created successfully on my OneDrive (so the connection and permissions are fine). However, during next run it still does not find it and tries to create a new one which results in having “Folder1 1”, on another attempt: “Folder1 2” and so on…

I think there is a bug here.

Hi @Sebastian Stefanczuk

For us to have more info, post these:

  • screenshots showing how your Zap step is configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible
  • screenshots from OneDrive showing the matching folder and its parent folders

Hi @Troy Tessalone

I prepared an example, please see:

OneDrive folder:

Zap:

After running Zap:

So obviously it cannot find “Folder1” even if it exists and tries to create a new one.

@Sebastian Stefanczuk

Try removing the Extra Fields.

@Troy Tessalone It did not help. After next run, it created another folder: “Folder1 2”.

@Sebastian Stefanczuk

You can try this:

  • Uncheck the box for “Create OneDrive Folder if it does not exist yet?”
  • Then use a Filter or Paths to create a Folder if not found

Otherwise, you can try opening a ticket with Zapier Support: https://zapier.com/app/get-help
