Newbie here, my first Zap keeps erroring out when trying to save attachment to Google Drive

Trying to create my first Zap, used CoPilot and failed then did it ‘manually’ and it passed all the tests. Now I’m getting an error saying it can’t save the file to my Google Drive folder. screenshot attached. I’m brand new here and getting pretty frustrated as I’ve read and heard that Zapier is pretty intuitive. Not so far … can anyone help?

Hey @Dave_A,

It’s a timeout error. Are you trying to upload a large file? I think it’s happening because of that.Try with a small attachment to see if it works. Hope it helps!

Hi, Sparsh - no, it’s a 155k PDF. I wondered if my path wasn’t captured correctly, so I clicked into step two and clicked through creating the save path on my Google Drive. I sent another test email, waiting for Gmail to Inbox it. Fingers crossed ...

Hey @Dave_A,

If that’s the case, please upload screenshots of Data In, Data Out as well as how each Zap step is configured for us to have more context.

Hi, Sparsh -

The path was the problem - .I fixed it, and pdf files are now being pushed to the proper folder. Now I have a different, weird issue. Every PDF that gets received by my personal (non-GMAIL) email account sees a ‘clean’ 1-page PDF report in landscape mode, while the emails in my GMAIL account I’m using for the Zapier trigger seens a PDF that’s badly formatted and spreads across two pages. I suspect it’s the watermark in the file placed there by Carbone during test printing but I have to dig into this. FWIW both are attached.

This isn’t Zapier’s problem - Zapier is correctly saving the file received by my Gmail account … it gets messed up before it hits my Gmail inbox. I need to dig into that but I think the Zap is working now. Thanks for checking back -
