Monday.com cannot match existing phone numbers

Very confused on this here. 

 

The workflow is based upon a new item. The problem is as follows. I am searching for a phone number in step 2. In a separate board. The phone numbers are not matching, even though they are the exact same.

The phone number is formatted as follows (XXX) XXX-XXXX 

 

Attached are screenshots, the highlighted yellow phone number is the one I’m trying to match it to within my data base. The blue phone number examples, are the formats I’ve tried to match it with through Zapier.

Good question.

Try finding the Item by another method to see how the Phone Number format is returned.

I think its a bug if anything. I’ve tried to reformat the data in a number of ways and it isn’t working. I’ve even reformatted all the data in a google sheet. Still can’t find it

From experience, Monday can be tricky to work with in Zaps.

It can lead to having to use the Monday API: https://developer.monday.com/apps/docs/mondayapi

App APIs can be used in Zaps via these apps:

One potential workaround would be to use a Monday Automation to set the phone number in a text field to use in the Zap search step.
