Missing variables in a Google Doc created by Zapier

I have given chat gpt instructions to include variables in it’s output instead of the text and it does it just fine… However, in the last step where we create a google doc, those variables get deleted… I am assuming because as soon as they are there it is looking for the variable and cannot find it.  Is there a way to make it treat this as text instead of a variable so it will stay?

Hi @StephAXC

Good question.

We’d need to see how your GDoc Zap action step is configured with screenshots.

The double bracket {{variable}} syntax is what Zapier uses for dynamic variables from previous steps.

So if those are invalid formats, meaning don’t match to a dynamic variable from a previous step, those are treated as missing and thus why not value is populated.

You’d need to use a different syntax for those to carry thru to the GDoc.

Thanks!  I found out I could ask Chat Gpt to output in basic html and was able to tell it to replace certain values with {{contact.first_name}} and it seems to be doing it well.  Ironically, it was Claude.ai who figured it out for me. 😀 Thank you for your help!
