Microsoft Sharepoint "Upload a File" timing out... even though the file was uploaded successfully!

Many times, when I upload a file to SharePoint using the "Upload a File" action, the action fails with this error:

Invoke failed: RequestId: 9ba174b0-0041-4b2f-8cfe-808ed2f58b7b Error: Task timed out after 90.00 seconds.

However, if I go to my SharePoint, the file got uploaded correctly.

Any ideas of why this is happening and how to fix it?

The files I’m uploading are 50-80 MB. When I upload a simple txt file of <1 MB, the Upload action works fine.

Hi @angeliti

Help links for using files in Zaps: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496288813453-Send-files-in-Zaps

Are you using a file object or a file url to upload the file?

Try using the file object for optimal Zap step processing.

If the issue persists, you can try opening a ticket with Zapier Support for them to investigate more: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Limitations

  • Some file fields may not accept text.
  • Files larger than 100 MB may result in a time out error.
  • Some apps may use list fields to send multiple files.
    • You must map each attachment to a separate list field.
    • If you enter multiple file objects or URLs as comma separated values in each field, Zapier will only send the first in each field.

As I said, the file is getting uploaded correctly, so everything is working great in the Zap.

The problem here is that the action is timing out even though it’s completing fine, so every day I get several emails with error notifications… that are not really errors, which is quite annoying. Also, some of these errors are resulting in the action getting rescheduled and retried several hours late, which is costing Zapier extra processing power (and in turn extra money).
