Mentioned users in Slack is not receiving notification.

Hi @ken.a -- another question for you since you have been very helpful! I have set up a zap to use someone’s slack id to mention them in a public slack channel, at first glance it appears to work fine but the person is not getting the notification that they have been mentioned, any ideas?

Hi there @Carly P,

This could be due to various reasons. 

1. Notification Settings: Check the person's Slack settings. They may be in “Do Not Disturb” mode or their notification settings may not be set to alert them for mentions.

2. Mention Format: Ensure that you're using the correct format for mentioning users. The format to mention someone is <@ID> (eg <@U024BE7LH>).

  1. hmm i have checked with a few folks and they should at least see it in their mentions even if they don’t have notifications set to alert - right?
  2. see attached pic the format looks right

 

any other thoughts?

I’m so sorry for the delayed response here.

This is a weird behavior with Slack. When the Zap runs and mentions a user in Slack, does it highlight the right person? Could you kindly provide some details on how the Slack mention appears?
