I'm trying to add a MCP Client by Zapier connection to Zapier using our remote MCP server which doesn’t support OAuth Authorization Code Flow.

So, on the browser dialog in opened in App Connections when MCP Client by Zapier is selected;

  • I set a valid `Server URL`.
  • I select `Streamable HTTP` for the `Transport`.
  • I set `OAuth` to No
  • I fill in the `Bearer Token`.

When I click on `Yes, Continue to MCP ...` it gives an error like below. Second no HTTP connection is initiated to my remote MCP Server.

Note: Not that it matters but just give you a reference, our remote MCP server works with n8n, VS Code Cline and CoPilot extensions fine. We can also test it fine with inspector, which you can find the SS at the end.

Hi there,

Laura here at Zapier Support. I would be happy to help you with this!

Can I  ask if you are using MCP with Microsoft Co Pilot? Currently we have an issue with connectivity which might be affecting your access. I just wanted to confirm this before we dig in further.

Best, Laura

Hi Laura, thanks for the fast reply. This is not related to Copilot.

This is our own remote MCP server that, when ready, we’d like to be able to use it in Zapier as part of a Zap. Our remote MCP server only supports a simple Bearer Token auth.

Note: The problem would not be about us using Ngrok, would it? I’m sure at the backend Zapier MCP Client uses a non-standard User-Agent for HTTP requests.

Hi there,

Thanks for the follow up questions.

We have a dedicated team that specializes in these types of technical issues with MCP connectivity and can dig into this much more closely than I'm able to from here. They'll have the tools and expertise needed to properly investigate the MCP server connectivity problem you're facing.

To get you connected with our technical team, you'll want to create a support ticket through our help center at https://zapier.com/app/get-help.

I hope that moves things forward.

Best, Laura

Thank you Laura.
