Hey!

I want to create a simple zap which does the following:

Zapier should check regularly if a new registrant has registered for a webinar.

In the next step I want to receive an e-mail from Zapier with information about the registrant to process them with another tool.

My problem is:

In the trigger event “New Registrant” I have to use a specific webinar. Therefore it only works for this webinar and not for another which I create.

How do I get Zapier to trigger every registration for every webinar?

Kind Regards,

Michael

Hi @mgho092, welcome to the Community! 🎉

Thanks for reaching out about this! 🙂 I did some checking and it appears the Webinar field for the New Registrant trigger is required, so a specific webinar would indeed need to be selected. This would mean that you’d need to duplicate the Zap and change the selected webinar for each one, which isn’t ideal.

I spotted we’ve got a feature request open for the abillity to trigger on any webinar so I’ve gone ahead and added your vote to that. While I can’t make any promises around when/if it will be added we’ll definitely send you an email notification once it is!

Rather than duplicating the Zap multiple times, perhaps you could use Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger instead? Looking at GoToWebinar’s API documentation they have a registrant.added event (see: GoToWebinar webhooks) that you could potentially subscribe to which could send a webhook containing the registrant details to a Zap whenever someone registers. I had a quick look and couldn’t see any mention on needing to specify a specific webinar so it seems like it would work for all webinars 🤞

Webhooks triggers are bit more advanced but we have a more general guide you can reference here: Trigger Zaps from webhooks. And GoToWebinar has some documenation on how to set up webhooks on their end which may be helpful too: How to use GoToWebinar webhooks.

Keen to ensure you’re all set so please keep us updated on how you get on with this! 🙂
