Hello,

I am trying to create a weekly expense and income data sheet in notion for my business. i bought a business expense and income data sheet. Everything works fine so far but when i add the category in the zap as an option from the Quickbooks side i get this message

“body failed validation: body.properties.Category.relation[0].id should be a valid uuid, instead was `"Software & apps"`. “

can anyone help? I’m new to Zapier

Hi @Averyb413

Help us have more info by posting screenshots showing:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined in order
  • how your Zap steps are configured in the CONFIGURE tab while in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible so we can see the field types
  • the encountered error

Hey @Averyb413,

The error usually means that it expects an ID and rather it’s mapping "Software & apps" resulting in an error. If the ID is not available from the previous triggers/ actions, you can maybe use Find or Create Database Item action in Notion to get the correct ID.

Hope it helps!

Hi there @Averyb413 👋

Sorry to hear that you’re running into that error. If Sparsh’s suggestion of using a Find or Create Database Item action doesn’t provide the ID for the category, you could try using a lookup table to automatically convert the category name provided by QuickBooks (like Software & apps) into the corresponding ID value that Notion is expecting to receive.

If you’ve not worked with lookup tables in Zaps before, I’d recommend checking out our Create lookup tables in Zaps guide to learn more.

Keep us posted on how you get on!
