Issues trying to connect Monday.com to Google Calendar
Hi! I'm a very new user to Zapier. Our organization uses Monday for our workflow, but our chief of staff would like a separate Google calendar that shows when all staff are out of office for whatever reason (Vacation/PTO, working from home, visiting a remote site, or just a one-off change of their day off because they did work on their regular day off). She wants them to come to her workflow in Monday because at least certain types need approval (Vacation/PTO, at least). But she also wants them in a shared Google calendar that all staff can subscribe to, and see who's not in the office that day and why.
Because it's a shared calendar and not any one person's primary calendar, Monday won't do it natively, but Zapier will. But it's also being difficult about actually translating the inputs from Monday correctly.
In Monday, we're using the daterange column type, and the test data I'm working with is June 3-June 5, 2025.
All of my fields seem to be mapped correctly, and I have the all day field turned on, but when I send the test input, it only covers June 3-June 4. And I kind of get it? The end date is showing as June 5 at midnight, rather than 11:59. But I don't know how to get it to include June 5 in the "all day" instruction. I tried telling the AI Copilot that all of the dates in the included range should be considered "all day", and when I tested it again, all of a sudden it had changed the year from 2025 to 2023, and I have NO idea what that was about!!!
Someone please help? What am I missing/doing wrong? I really want to like Zapier, because Monday (particularly Monday forms!) has some deficiencies, and Zapier will let us connect more robust options to Monday, but this is the first time I'm actually trying to implement a specific task, and it's just... not working.

Hi @Liz824
Help us have more info by posting these screenshots:
how your Zap steps are outlined
how your Zap steps are configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible
any encountered errors
Okay, I’m sorry it took me so long to answer. Saw this going into the holiday weekend and started to set it up for screenshots, but had to finish this morning.
This is the Monday board I’m starting with:
When I connected it in Zapier, these were the settings:
And I ran a test. And this is what I got from Google Calendar:
It ends a day early, despite my having the all day indicator turned on.
You asked about errors, so I looked at the AI CoPilot:
And yeah, there’s an error there, despite the test having run successfully in the right pane, in that it sent something to the calendar. It wasn’t sure what to do with the end date field, even though it was filled in on the configuration side. So I gave it an instruction:
And then I hit enter, and captured all of the fields in the right pane.
So the AI did 3 things: it replaced the mapping to the Event Timerange with a generic date field, which it left empty, it “turned on” the all day flag (which was already on!!!), and it turned on the “Use Default Reminders” for no discernable reason (and I had that turned off because while it’s helpful for staff to see when someone is away and why, they don’t need a calendar alert about it!!!
And I knew this test would fail, but I ran it anyway, just for the screenshot:
I gave the AI a new command:
And it still failed because it didn’t even touch the End Date & Time field, just 2 fields that were already in the On state. Of course it did.
So I said “screw the AI”, and remapped the field correctly:
And got a test that would run, but still only gives me an event that includes June 3-June 4, and not June 5.
I wasn’t able to recreate the error that happened last week, where asking the AI to ensure all the dates were included in the all day command made the event show up in 2023. Maybe something got fixed? I certainly don’t want my events showing up 2 years ago, so I’m not looking too hard. But this needs to work.
I WILL say that when I first tried to set this up last week, and then I posted, I had done the initial connections between the Monday board and the Google calendar, but then ALL of my commands were through the AI Copilot. I didn’t try to map fields on the right at all. I just connected them, let it do its thing, and then talked to the AI. And got sent back to 2023. (Also, there was a WHOLE fun interlude with the event starting in 2023, and getting continually repeated every 3 days until it stopped right BEFORE it should have started in 2025.). ‘
When I tried to recreate this for screenshots, I did map my fields, because in the interim I’d done a successful Zap to connect a Google Form output to a Monday board, and felt more comfortable mapping individual fields.
Thank you for whatever help you can provide.
@Liz824
If you set the GCal Event END Date to June 5, 2025, that means the event ends when it becomes June 5, 2025.
If you want the GCal Event END Date to be all the way thru June 5, 2025, then you need to set the end date for June 6, 2025.
Thank you!!! That was the piece I was missing. I added +1d to my end date, and reran the test, and it worked. About to publish the Zap and send through a fresh test from Monday, but I am so grateful!!
That’s awesome to hear @Liz824, so glad you got it working! 🎉 Thanks a ton for circling back to share what ended up doing the trick, it’s super helpful for others who might run into the same thing. Also, want to say a big thank you to @Troy Tessalone for helping out here. 🧡
