Hi,

I’m running into an issue with the “New Email on Search” trigger in Outlook when it comes to handling email attachments. Here’s the situation:

• My Zap is set up to trigger when a new email matching certain search criteria is found in Outlook.

• My test trigger email contains two attachments.

• Unfortunately, when I pass on the file to next action (ChatGPT action), it appears the two files from Outlook are actually combined into a zip, because I get this error: “Files with extensions l.zip] are not supported for retrieval. See https://platform.openai.com/docs/assistants/tools/file-search/supported-files”.

I’d prefer the attachments to remain separate files so they can be processed individually in the ChatGPT action. However, I haven’t found a straightforward way to split the .zip file back into its individual components, and the automatic zipping by the Outlook trigger seems unavoidable.

Questions:

1. Is there a way to configure the Outlook trigger or handle the attachments differently so that they are passed individually instead of being zipped?

2. Has anyone found an efficient workaround for splitting the .zip file directly within Zapier (or another tool)?

3. Are there best practices for handling multiple attachments in this scenario, especially when passing them to a tool that doesn’t support .zip files?

Any advice, recommendations, or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My bad. Looks like a found a similar issue here with a good solution (though it’d be better to have a native unzip action in Zapier).

Wow! Thank you for confirming that you found a resolution get the Zap running. This will significantly help our Community members to have as a reference for the same issue.
