I am attempting to have my contact for from my CRM 17hats send new contacts and leads to constant contact. The issue I am running into is the contacts are not coming into constant contact. I ran the test on the Zap and it worked perfect. But when i test my contact form that then leads into 17hats for a real world application nothing pulls in. Is there a setting I have wrong? Ay help would be great!
Thanks for reaching out Adam! To help us resolve the issue quickly, could you please provide the following:
- Trigger/Action: screenshot What is the name of the Zap and which part isn’t working and would you share the a screenshot for your trigger and actions?
- Logs: Please check the Zap Runs logs in the sidebar and share any relevant details, a screenshot would be great
This is from the 17hats website for Zapier: https://help.17hats.com/en/articles/2761371-zapier-integration
ACTIONS THAT START IN ANOTHER APP, END IN 17HATS
(XYZ Happens, create a contact in 17hats):
-
The Trigger step will be your initial application where the beginning action takes place
-
The next action will be where you have the Zap "Create a contact" in 17hats
-
The “Edit Options” sections for each field will be each “Contact” field within 17hats, including custom fields! uboxed in screenshot below]
-
The tokens/fields you choose to map into these boxes will be the other App’s information/fields
Example:
New Appointment in Acuity > Creates new Contact in 17hats

I'm getting an error saying "You don't have permission to perform this action"
Constant Contact requires your account to have the Account Manager
role in order to be able to add or edit Contacts via their API. Learn more here by looking at the Constant Contact help guide for this setting.
I'm getting an error that a contact already exists in Constant Contact, but I know it's not in that list.
Constant Contact identifies duplicates at the account level so you may see this error even if the contact is in another list. If you'd like to move that contact to a different list in your Constant Contact account, you can update the contact instead of creating it. To do so, you use the following workflow:
- Add a Find Contact action to search for the email address. Make sure to select the option to create a new contact if none is found.
- Replace the Create Contact action with the Update Contact action and set it up. This will allow the Zap to update the list the email belongs to, whenever it's already been added to your account.

Here is a screen shot of my ZAP below. Now I am extremely new to this software and have found it should be easy to set up as many do in my community use these set ups but I am running into issues. I am sorry as I can not locate the Logs portion on the site you are asking I will try to look for it again as Iam not sure where I would find that.
I will read the article you linked and in the meantime while I await more help.
Essentially I have a 17hats contact form on my website and want the moment someone fills that out to then create a contact in a list on constant contact.
So I am testing it and shows it coming into zapier but the info is not going into constant contact. I am having trouble understanding why.
Hi there
I’m jumping in to see if I can help!
It looks like you’re using the incorrect action here. Have you tried using the “Create Contact” action instead? The “Add Contact to List” only works on existing contacts.
I'll be keeping an eye out for your response!
