Problems with integration among GiveWp, Zapier and Iubenda ( for the data consent collection)

The GiveWP donation form's consent data is not being registered or transmitted to Iubenda through Zapier
The Zap is never triggered when a donation is completed
Checking Zapier History shows no records of completed donations

The initial Zap is never triggered upon donation completion (verified in Zapier history)
The issue appears to be at the GiveWP/Zapier integration level
No error messages are displayed in the Zapier interface

When running test triggers in the Zap editor, they execute successfully and appear to work correctly. However, in real-world scenarios with actual donations, the Zap fails to trigger and no data is tracked.

Please help

Thank you

Silvia

Hi @silviajamiramancini

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible.

Hi troy thank you first,

Main Problem:
The integration between Give WP and Iubenda via Zapier is not working for managing data consent in donations on ungancioalparkinson.org.

1. Give WP:
- Confirms that the Zapier connection appears correct
- The "New Donation" trigger is properly configured
- Their internal tests are working
- Suggests the problem is not on their side

2. Iubenda:
- Verified that the problem is not in their system
- Identified that the initial Zap is never triggered
- Confirmed that tests work but real donations don't trigger the Zap
- Successfully tested by replacing Iubenda with Notion, confirming the upstream problem

3. Zapier:
- Identified that Give WP is using a private ("invite-only") integration
- Explains they have limited resources to support private apps
- Confirms that Give WP uses an "instant" type trigger
- Suggests that Give WP might not be sending notifications to Zapier correctly

Critical Issues Identified:
1. Give WP's private integration limits Zapier's support capabilities
2. The trigger is not activated during real donations
3. Notifications from Give WP to Zapier may not be sent correctly

The core issue appears to be in the communication between Give WP and Zapier, specifically in the trigger mechanism for real donations, despite successful test runs. The private nature of the Give WP integration adds an additional layer of complexity to resolving this issue.

grazie for any helps.

Silvia

Help links for using GiveWP: https://givewp.com/documentation/add-ons/zapier/

If the Zap is not firing, then either:

  • The Zap trigger step is not configured correctly
    • We would need to see screenshots
  • GiveWP is not being tested correctly when the Zap is turned ON to trigger the Zap
  • The Zap trigger has a bug
    • Contact GiveWP Support for help with their Zap app integration

Hi Troy

i have set all the things following the rules, how to solve the Zap trigger Bug?

I have a video can i share a link here? there is a way to have a private sharing? to go faster otherwise i have to blur some parts.

let me klnow thank you

PS: i have opened a ticket with GiveWp even if the say that the problems are not related to their plugin

Thank you Troy,

if I'm going to spend money on a bug I'd rather know first GiveWp what kind of mistake it made in creating the plugin.
Since even to ask Zapier for help I had to acquire a plus plan again because of a mistake not mine....
Waiting...
In case I will treasure your advice thank you very much

Hi there, @silviajamiramancini 👋

I just came across this and wanted to ask which payment processor the GiveWP plugin is using to process the donation payments? If it’s Stripe or PayPal for example perhaps you could use one of their triggers for the Zap to carry out the necessary actions when a donation is made. You can see the full list of supported payment processors on Zapier here: https://zapier.com/apps/categories/payment-processing

Do you think that could be a viable solution?
