Hi team,

i’ve tried many ways but i feel like i’m missing something.

I want to zap new and updated jira tasks from our jira board to a notion database. As we have different persons assigned for each ticket i need the assignee to be transferred as well, but i just can’t make it work.

Using static i can see everyone needed including the ID. But by using it i’ll have everyone assigned on the notion task - not the assigned person.

Using dynamic i get the assignee name, email and account id. But none of that is working...

What am i missing to get this to work?

Hi @CDrom

For the field, click the h...] button at the right to change to “Custom” mode, then use the s+] button to map a dynamic variable from a previous Zap step.

e.g. If you want to set Niklas as the Assignee, then the field expects a value of: 12e

You may have to add a lookup table to translate the values between apps.

@Troy Tessalone Merry Christmas and thanks for your feedback!

Seems like my reply from a few days ago didn’t make it through…

Your feedback helped, but i still can’t find a way to make this one work. I have multiple users on my Jira board and the same users on my Notion board (with matching email addresses). But every ticket in Jira has a different assignee and autor. How can i have them matched?

@CDrom

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible.

@Troy Tessalone

The Task is created in Notion and has an assignee if i enter a STATIC value. But as we have multiple people on both sides (Jira and Notion) i need to have the assigned person in Jira and Notion matching.

Hi @CDrom,

You’d need to utilize the Lookup Table function for your desired workflow to be possible since the assignee ID in Jira is different from Notion. You can learn more about the Lookup Table here:

Hopefully, this helps.

@ken.a Thanks Ken!

I saw this already as one option but adding a third step a pro version is needed. Is there any chance to get this done inside the free plan?

Hi @CDrom,

If possible, please add the assignee ID in Jira that corresponds with the one in Notion. This adjustment might allow you to achieve your desired workflow without needing the lookup table. However, if that's not feasible, we would need to use the lookup table to make it work.

Hopefully, this helps.
