How to select the correct invoice template in Moneybird for Shopify orders

Well, this is my first zap in Zapier ever… and to be honest I’m struggling a bit.

I’m not only have trouble to create a invoice in moneybird but I’m also searching for fields that seem not to be there.

I currently have multiple invoice templates/Designs for my invoices in Moneybird. One for my website sells and one for my offline sells. But how do I pick the correct template/Design?

I also have trouble finding a contact, or creating a contact and then use this in the invoice.

Does anybody have a correct working Shopify → Moneybird ZAP?

Thank you

Hey @tvdsluijs,

Here are all the triggers/ actions for Moneybird in Zapier- https://zapier.com/apps/moneybird/integrations

I think your workflow will look like this-

  • New Order Trigger
  • Find or Create Contact action- Moneybird
  • Create Sales Invoice in Moneybird

Here is a helpful article about dynamic mapping in Zapier- https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496343026701-Send-data-between-steps-by-mapping-fields

Regarding the templates, I think Moneybird uses the default template for it and I don’t think you can specify the template through native Zapier actions. But there is workaround through querying the API directly using Webhooks in Zapier action. See more about it here- https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496326446989-Send-webhooks-in-Zaps. Here is the API documentation for the endpoint(https://developer.moneybird.com/api/sales-invoices). You can see that you can select a document style id.

This is a sample flow and you may need to add actions like Formatter, Looping etc as workflows are usually personalized to user’s needs. I know API approach can get a bit more technical and complex but if templates are important for you, you can give this approach a try. Hope it helps!

Money bird doesn’t let Zapier choose different invoice templates, it always uses the default.
Just add a Find/Create Contact step before Create Sales Invoice, then map that contact ID.
A simple 3, step Zap (Order Paid → Contact → Invoice) works reliably.
