I have a number of zaps that use the Quickbooks Online app connector. I first get the link using the QBO API request:

I use the API request along with the invoice id from the previous step. I then store that in Trello in a custom field.

I’m now trying to do the same thing in an existing zap that doesn’t have this functionality, and I’m unable to reproduce the response data invoice link. When I go to find that call, it doesn’t exist.

The “response data invoice link” doesn’t appear as an option, and yet it’s there and working in other zaps. Any ideas?

Hi @Bellevuefineart

Make sure to test the Zap step in the new Zap, to have data points to use to map to following action steps.

You can copy a Zap step between Zaps using the COPY button.

I am currently experiencing issues with getting new data sets to test with in zapier with jotform as the trigger. I’ve been working with support for days now and it’s finally being escalated to the jotform.com team for investigation. But I didn’t know you could copy a step between zaps.

I tried this, but the field “response data invoice link doesn’t appear in the list of data I can use:

@Bellevuefineart

Did you test the Zap step?

Looks like dummy data is being returned/used.

Troy

That may be the problem. There is currently a bug with jotform where it is not pulling in new data for testing. Support has been working with me to find workarounds but honestly it’s causing me huge headaches and I feel like I can’t make any progress like this.

They’ve been telling me to ignore the errors and run the zap live to get new data, but it’s just not working.

@Bellevuefineart

You can use previous Zap Runs as trigger examples: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/35632951078029-Use-previous-Zap-runs-as-trigger-test-records

Also, you can test the QBO API request using static values so you can finish configuring the Zap action steps, then you can go back and add in the dynamic variables from the Jotform step.

thanks Troy. I’ve been staring at this problem too long today. I think I’ll get some programming help for this.

But this is my first time using the zapier community and I much appreciate your answers. They’ve all been helpful.
