im trying to populate my Adobesign template using values from a typeform. i have added text fields to the docusign template but they dont show on the selection screen.

Those plain text fields may not be detected reliably in Adobe sign. You may wanna look into something called Adobe Sign Text Tags for reliable detection by Adobe Sign. They follow a particular syntax. Try using that and see if you can get your desired workflow with that.
