We currenlty assign work using monday.coms calendar view with time slots.

We use Zapier to add jobs to monday.com via excel files exported out of a software called Clarity professional as this doesnt link directly with Monday.com and then once populate we move the jobs manually to different time slots within monday.com.

If a job changes we send a new excel file through zapier, and this updates the entry on monday.com usint the IDs Monday.com creates, problem is, when a job is updated it moves the entry back to the top of the monday.com calendar and we have to manually move back to the timeslot again.

This is fine for one or two jobs but when we have 15/20 jobs moving we cant always remember which timeslot went where.

Is there a way through zapier that once a job is updated it keeps its timeslot with the calendars in monday.com.

Hi @ReadePaul, welcome to the Community! 🎉

Are you using a search action to locate the relevant Monday.com IDs, or is that information stored in the Excel file? If you’re using a monday.com search action does it provide information on what timeslot the entry currently has? If so, maybe you could select the existing timeslot value from the search action in the action that’s updating the entry?

Do you think that approach could work, or does the action to update the entry not provide a field where you can update the timeslot? If it doesn’t perhaps you could try using a Custom Action or API Request action to update the entry and keep the existing timeslot?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi @ReadePaul

I recommend you open a support ticket with our email support team for more assistance with this. They’ll need to review the affected Zap in order to provide accurate troubleshooting of the issue.
