I’m trying to use a zap to add order information from Ecwid to a Google Calendar entry. Everything is working fine, except the order info which maps into the details section. I have a list of the order information I need (product name, quantity, options added), but if I have more than one product that is being order, Zapier puts all of the information into one garbled list. I looked into loops, but I can’t figure out how to make that work. Can anyone help?

Here’s an example of what it dumps into the calendar description.

This is closer to what I need it to look like (cut and pasted from the order description from Ecwid itself)

Pie, 1

Pumpkin, Whole Pie, Gluten Free, Top Crust

Pie, 1

Flavor: Pumpkin, Whole Pie, Top Crust

Pie, 1

Apple, Whole Pie, Top Crust

Pie, 1

Apple Cranberry, Whole Pie, Top Crust

Hi @spaghettipie

Add this Zap action: Formatter > Utilities > Line Items to Text

Uggh thank you. I’ve watched tutorials on that and I still can’t make it work right. It doesnt list each product with its options, it lists all the products, then all the options. So do I try the loop first, and then the formatter? This is so not intuitive to me.

@spaghettipie

You should not need to do any loops.

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how your Formatter step is configured in EDIT mode.

if I just do one item it works fine. Add quantity, also seems to work. When I add the options, it places the same options on every product which is not helpful.

Also, once the formatter works, how do I make it choose that information for the calendar entry?

Thanks for all the help. I feel like I’m overall tech savvy enough but this just hasn’t been intuitive to me. I welcome any other resources to go watch or read.

Hi @spaghettipie,

I believe you will need to add a Formatter - Line-item to text action for each line-item data. After that, you will map the Formatter output to your Google Calendar action step.

Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!
