Hi everyone,
I’m setting up a Zapier Interface + Table for my law firm’s estate planning intake. I’m totally new to Interfaces and figuring it out as I go.
The goal:
Because the full intake form has ~100 questions, I split it across multiple form pages (~25 questions each) so clients can submit in chunks and return later. But I want all of the data from those separate forms to land in one single row in a Zapier Table — so we have one complete client record.
What I’ve tried:
-
Passing a Row ID via URL (e.g.
?Row ID={{Row ID}}
) -
Using hidden fields (like Row ID or Email)
-
Matching rows by client email or other unique fields
-
Setting up Zaps to update the main table based on submissions
But no matter what I do, each form still creates a new row, instead of updating the one that already exists.
I also wanted to create separate pages so that I could zap some reminders to end clients if they hadn’t completed a section. So some kind of monitoring Zap that sees if the table has received the data, and then the client gets an automated reminder with a link to exactly the section they need to fill.
Why this matters:
We want to:
-
Auto-generate a PDF summary for attorney review
-
Send the data to Actionstep via Zapier
I moved from Microsoft Forms hoping for more flexibility, and Interfaces is great — but this is the one piece I can’t figure out.
Has anyone successfully gotten this to work? I’d love any advice or examples — even if it means using a slightly more advanced setup with staging tables or other tricks.
Thanks in advance
