How can I create task in Motion from Google Docs?

Hello Zapier Community,

I am trying to create a Zap which will create a task in Motion (usemotion.com) from a Google Doc.

The context is that I take notes in realtime with clients.  As action items come up, I note them in the the Google Doc and want them to then appear in my task management system, in this case something called Motion (usemotion.com).

My current planned solution is to use the auto-creation of a task in Google Docs to create a new tasks in Google Tasks.

Then I have a Zap which triggers on the creation of a new task in Google Tasks to create a new task in Motion.

The Zap works when I manually create a new Task directly in the Google Tasks user interface, but Zapier does not recognize a new task created by Google Docs.  It seems there is no “New Task” trigger when Google Docs creates the task in Google Tasks.

Any suggestions?  Or alternative solutions/suggestions?

Thanks!

-Stan

Hi @stanward-ITP

There are the available GDoc Zap app triggers/actions: https://zapier.com/apps/google-docs/integrations#triggers-and-actions

You would have to use Google Tasks Zap app as the trigger step: https://zapier.com/apps/google-tasks/integrations#triggers-and-actions
