Gmail forwarding is sending the same email over 100s of times. Stuck in a loop. Can you help?

Hi @Hunters Point,

You can check the “Inbound Email Trigger” consider switching to using the Inbound Email triggers. Set up auto-forwarding for your Gmail account to your Zapier-provided inbound email address1. Also you can switch to IMAP trigger if “Inbound Email Trigger” doesn’t work.

Let us know if this fixes your issues. Thanks.

Ah, so I setup a seperate action within the zap, first to auto-forward to Zappier then to destination email?

Hi @Hunters Point

For us to have more context, post screenshots with how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode.

Sure, please see attached.

@Hunters Point

For your Zap trigger step, looks like the Search String field needs to be adjusted to be more specific.

Check the field description for guidance.

The field description may be a tooltip linked to the field label. (click on it)

You’ll want to try specifying the from email, the subject, the folder.

That’s great. I added it and I will see what happens. Also to clarify, the same email is forwarded 100s of times, not different emails.

@Hunters Point

That’s because you created an infinite loop: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496232045453-Zap-is-stuck-in-a-loop

Oh now I understand. it was forwarding emails from the sent box as well so created a loop. i specified from and to fields, it should work now.. Thanks!
