Getting errors trying to do subtraction in Zapier Formatter (Bloomerang Zap)

Hello,

Whenever we get a new transaction in Bloomerang, I want Zapier to take the value in the Fee Amount field and subtract it from the Amount field.  The trigger is a new transaction in Bloomerang, and for the action I’m currently using Zapier Formatter and getting errors.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hi @Jillius18

If you want to do a formula, then use this Zap action: Formatter > Numbers > Spreadsheet Style Formula

Help: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496181204877-Available-spreadsheet-style-formulas#h_01JADEK5GRSCNG9ZMFXZK7F7CM

For the Zap action: Formatter - Numbers - Perform Math Operation

You need to map 1 input variable per input field instead of trying to configure a formula in 1 input field.

So 2 inputs means 2 input fields, each with 1 variable mapped.

Logic is top minus bottom.

Hi there @Jillius18 👋

Did Troy’s suggestion of mapping the Amount and Fee Amount fields into a separate input fields get it working? Or did you switch to use a Formatter (Numbers > Spreadsheet-Style Formula) action instead?

Let us know how it went—want to make sure you’ve got this sorted! 🙂
