I am on a free Zapier plan which limits how many tasks can run per month.  This is fine with me!  However, I can’t update my Zap.  I am in the time of month when no more Zaps will run. During this time, I wanted to change the selection criteria for next month’s Zap run and for some reason it will not publish. I keep getting the splash screen about upgrading my account.  Then I click publish and it acts like it wants to update, and then I get the splash screen again.  Is this normal?

Thanks

Welcome to the Community, @Sheree! 🎉

Sorry to hear your Zap won’t publish. Did you happen to add any additional action steps to the Zap, like adding a Filter for example?

If so, that might be why it’s not letting you publish—Zaps on a Free plan can only include one action step. Does that sound like what happened, or did you make a different kind of edit to change the selection criteria?

Also, just wanted to share our Can't turn on or publish Zap in case that helps you to identify why the Zap won’t turn on.

Keep us posted, want to make sure this gets sorted! 🙂

No additional steps were added.  I just have one step.  The current selection criteria selects Zaps every time a Brevo contact is updated. This is overwhelming since thousands are updated each week!  So I wanted to change the criteria to select based on the contact opening an email campaign.  There is nothing I can do to change it.  So then I tried to create a brand new Zap, but I hit the same wall.  I am out of tasks for the month.  Why can’t I change or add a Zap?  I even tried deleting all the Zaps that were in a HOLD status and that did not help.  I am about ready to give up or contact support.  Thanks.

Hi @Sheree

Help us have more info by posting screenshots showing:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined
  • how your Zap steps are configured
  • the encountered messaging indicating you can’t turn your Zap ON.

Options:

  • Wait until your Zapier plan billing cycle resets so you have Tasks to use
  • Upgrade to a Zapier paid plan

Hi @Sheree,

We just wanted to see how everything is going with your Zap. Did Troy's recommendation get the job done? Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance with your Zap. We're glad to address any concerns and assist you.

We're looking forward to your response.

Hello Everyone!  I decided to wait until today, Aug 1, to see if I could update my Zap. I was successful!  All is well now.  I guess when you are on a free plan, and your Zap has maxed out on transactions then you can’t update your Zap until it is active again.  Thank you!

Yay! 🎉 Sorry I missed this previously @Sheree. So glad you were able to get it updated once your account’s billing cycle reset. Happy Zapping! 😁⚡️
