Question

Formatter issue with string of URLs

Forum|alt.badge.img

I am pulling images from sharetribe.

It is a strings of URLs. I used the formatter by zapier to split them.

Now I have for instance 15 URLs as output. I only want to have 10. The segment index somehow doesnt work. the out put looks like this:

If I select segment index first, it only shows 1, 2, 3 as if it takes it as a column.
I am not able to limit the output to 10 items.

Hope someone knows how to solve this

Hi @infob

Try this...

Zap action: Formatter > Text > Split

Segment Index: All (as Separate Fields)

Then you can individually map the desired output variables 1-10.

Thanks troy,

My next step is a facebook post where the limit is 10 pics. What is the step to map 1-10 only?

@infob

Map the Formatter output variables that are named 1-10.

For us to have more info post screenshots.

It looks like the screenshot about.. output numbers 1-x. The segmenter is not working to select only 1-10. I do not know how to map this otherwise

@infob

For us to have full and current info, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible.

this is the format step:

It output all the images number 1 to x with the URL behind as shown in the screenshot before.

Segment index does not help to select 1-10 images only. What else would you need to see?

Hi @infob,

Could you please try changing the Text in Formatter - Split Text function to Utilities in Formatter - Line-item to Text function instead?

Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!

Hi Ken thanks for your suggestion.

My output becomes like this. How do I limit this to 10 items?

I spoke to soon. Next step reveals the answer. Now I can select the items separately.
If I select 10 items for the facebook post I get an error Sig_invalid.

I tried to use the separator field for this. Input , and , + space. but didnt help. I kept getting an error Sig_invalid

eventually I added a , + space in between the outputs when selecting them as source.
The error goes away and it mentions the post stream was done. However I checked the post and the images didnt come through.

Tried adding another formatter for text in between but didnt get it to work yet

Excuse my retardedness. The output items should notbe added in 1 photo box but separately 1 in each

Issue solved. Thanks all for helping.

Solution: Formatter-Utilities-line item to text. Use output items in separate photo input boxes
