Subject: Lofty Transaction-to-Contact Tagging Zap Not Firing / Trigger Not Detecting New Transactions

Description:

I've built a Zap that should:

  1. Trigger when a new transaction is created in Lofty
  2. Loop through contacts attached to the transaction
  3. Apply tags ("2026 Seller" or "2026 Buyer") based on transaction type (Listing vs Purchase)

Current Status: The Zap is published but not working. No tags are being applied to contacts.

Problem: The trigger (Step 1: "New Transaction") is not detecting real transactions created in Lofty. It only finds sample/test data. I've created 4+ real transactions with contacts attached, but the trigger doesn't catch them.

What I've tried:

  • Created transactions with type "Listing" and "Purchase" with contacts attached
  • Waited 2-3 minutes for polling
  • Retested the trigger multiple times
  • Zap is turned ON and published

Need:

  • Fix the trigger to detect new transactions
  • Or recommend alternative approach if "New Transaction" trigger has limitations

Hi @clc 👋

I can see that you reached out to our Support team about this as well. They added you to a feature request to allow the New Transaction trigger to have Organization-wide scope, so it could run for all transactions not just ones that are assigned to the connected Lofty user account. Can’t make any promises as to when that feature request will be implemented but we’ll be sure to send you an email notification once it is.

Seems like you were able to resolve things for now by assigning the transactions to yourself so the Zap can trigger on them. 🙌

If there’s anything else you’d like some help with just let us know!

Hi @clc

Try testing live with the Zap ON.

Help link for how to use a previous Zap Run as a Zap trigger example record to then configure Zap action steps: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/35632951078029-Use-previous-Zap-runs-as-trigger-test-records
