Fixing Paperform file array issues in Basecamp integration

I’ve been working on a problem for a couple of hours.  CoPilot has tried repeatedly (6-8 tries) to fix something, but the “fixes” have absolutely no effect.

Zap ID = Creative Service Request - Create To-Do in Basecamp

Overview:  I am taking fields from a form in Paperform.co, and generating a To-Do list on >Basecamp.com

Problem:  There is a field, "Creative Assets”, which may contained URLs for several uploaded files.  I’d like each URL to be displayed separately, with a blank line between them.  Each URL should be a live link.

What is actually happening is that all of the URLs are run together with just a comma (and no space) separating the URLs.  And the entire block of text is wrapped in a single link to the first of the URLs.

I’m getting extremely frustrated because CoPilot keeps saying that the problem is fixed, but the behavior of the Zap doesn’t change at all.

Hello @Metro.Agency

that’s a line item formatting issue. Copilot won’t fix this on its own.

Paperform is sending Creative Assets as line items. When mapped directly, Zapier joins them with commas and Basecamp wraps them into one link.

Fix:

Add Formatter by Zapier
Utilities → Line-item(s) to text
Map Creative Assets
Separator: \n\n
Use the Formatter output in Basecamp

Each URL will show on its own line as a clickable link.

Hey @Metro.Agency  Zapier doesn’t automatically split multiple URLs into separate lines with individual links. You’ll need to use a Formatter step: split the “Creative Assets” field by comma or newline, then join them with line breaks. Map that output to Basecamp so each URL appears on its own line as a clickable link.

Hey @Metro.Agency,

It’s hard to tell exactly what’s going wrong just from the information you have. You probably will have to use a Formatter action depending on the trigger data from paperform and then pass it to Basecamp action.

Right now it’s probably seeing it as one whole string. You will have to split the URL using a Formatter → Split Text and join them with Formatter → Join Text and you can join with newline(\n). Hope it helps!

Hi @Metro.Agency

Try using this Zap action: Formatter > Utilities > Line Items to Text
