Assunto: Connection Problem with Google Drive - "Find Folder" and "Create Folder" actions failing

Mensagem:

Hello, I'm trying to create a Zap (Trello -> Google Drive) but I'm facing a persistent error. I've done extensive troubleshooting and believe there is a technical issue.

My Goal:
When a card is moved to a list in Trello, I want to find a folder in Google Drive that has the same name as the Trello card.

The Problem:
The "Find a Folder" action consistently fails with the error "Nothing could be found for the search", even though the folder exists. Now, the "Create Folder" action is failing with a generic error "We could not retrieve information for this step at this moment."

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

My folders are in "My Drive", not a "Shared Drive".

I have confirmed that the Trello card name is 100% identical to the Google Drive folder name (e.g., the card is named "Aurea" and the folder is named "Aurea").

I have tried placing the folder in the root directory and inside a Parent Folder. The error persists.

I have deleted and reconnected my Google Drive account to Zapier multiple times, granting all permissions.

Crucial Diagnostic Test: We successfully tested a "Create File from Text" action. It was able to correctly create a file inside the parent folder ("Lojas Gestão Valor"). This proves that the basic connection and write permissions are working correctly.

The issue seems to be specific to actions that need to search for or create folders within that parent folder.

Conclusion:
It seems there is a specific visibility or API issue with the "Find Folder" and "Create Folder" actions related to my account's folder structure. The basic connection is working, but these specific actions are not.

Can you please investigate what might be causing this block?

@Marketing Clube Valor

You can try adding a lookup table in it, and map folder names with relevant folder ID’s and use the id to find the folder or save or get files from the folder.

Hi @Marketing Clube Valor

Help us have more info by posting these screenshots:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined
  • how your Zap steps are configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible in the CONFIGURE tab
  • example of a matching Trello Card and GDrive Folder

Hi there @Marketing Clube Valor 👋

Were you able to get it sorted using a lookup table as Mohammad_Shahzaib_Nawaz suggested?

If not, can you share some screenshots as Troy mentioned so we can take a look at whether there’s anything on the setup that might be causing the trouble here? Remember to use a tool like Zappy to remove any personal info like names, emails etc. before sharing as this is a public space.

Looking forward to hearing from you! 🙂
