Hello there,

 

I referenced the following community before posting here. 

 

I have an email from GMAIL that has a PICTURE in the body and XLSX as the attachment.

I would like to save only the XLSX into GDRIVE

I setup the GMAIL >> FILTER >> GDRIVE where I tried everything to try and filter only on the XLSX but only the PNG gets uploaded.

How do I setup my filter so that only the XLSX is uploaded into GDRIVE?

Filters that I have tried

  • Filename
  • MimeType
  • Size greater than

None of them appear to work.

HELP!

PS: I am on the PRO plan

Please post screenshots with how your Zap steps are currently configured, thanks.

Make sure you are using Gmail New Attachment as the Zap trigger step.

Check your Zap Runs once the Zap is ON to see the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap step to help you troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Can you share some screenshots from the history showing a successful run even if it’s PNG file? It will clarify why it’s not filtering properly.

Filtering by “Attachment Details Mime Type” only seems to refer to the image/png but I can see the raw headers of the email contain the xlsx

The reason the Zap won’t pass the Filter is because you are testing manually and the sample record from the trigger step is for an image not a xls.

Try turning the Zap ON and testing.

Ok I did something and it appears to have worked. I now see only the xlsx file uploaded into GDRIVE. Yay! :grinning:

 

First of all “Attachment Details Mime Type” should be set to sheet not xlsx

Secondly, I don’t think resolution is ONLY turning the Zap ON, it involves selecting the right attachment from the detected attachment

I cycled through the different Attachments in the “Test trigger” step of the New Attachment Zap and after selecting “Attachment C”, the zap correctly filtered and uploaded the XLSX only

For whatever reason New Attachment Zap pulls a ton of Attachments when it tests.
