Failed to create a role in Discord: {"message": "Missing Permissions"."code":50013}

I’m trying to create a Zap that awards a role to a user when a new row is added to a Google Sheets spreadsheet.

Oddly enough, I’m receiving the following error:

Failed to create a role in Discord
{"message": "Missing Permissions", "code": 50013}

 

This is strange because Zapier bot has admin permissions in the server. I’ve even gone through and added every permission to it anyway, just to be sure. The error persists. I’ve removed and readded the bot, but the same error occurs. 

 

Strangely enough, this has replaced the “Cannot find user” error I was receiving a few days ago with an identical Zap. 

 

Any help appreciated!

Hey there @anon0921,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

The error usually happens when the Discord account connected to Zap doesn't have permission to complete this step. 

I'd recommend turning on the "Manage Webhooks" and "Send Messages" permissions in Discord.
