Hi everyone,

I have been using Zapier to integrate QuickBooks with monday.com. In my Zap, I have a step that searches for products in QuickBooks using the product name, since the data I am getting from my QuickBooks invoices isn’t displaying the SKU. However, I need the SKU later in the Zap to filter out specific products.

Currently, I’m encountering an "error parsing query" in the Search Products step.

My questions are:

  1. Is there a way to retrieve the SKU directly from a QuickBooks invoice? Or any alternative method to get the SKU when processing invoices?

  2. How can I avoid the "error parsing query" when searching for products in QuickBooks using Zapier?

Hi @michaelesh,

Welcome to the Community.

QuickBooks doesn't natively support SKUs on invoice line items, but you can retrieve them if stored in the "Sales Description" or a custom field. Alternatively, use a lookup table in Google Sheets to match product names with SKUs. For the "error parsing query" issue, check for syntax errors, and if the problem persists, provide details on the query and its Zap step.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey there, @michaelesh 👋

How did you get on with Jammer’s suggestion here—did a lookup table help to get the SKU needed to filter out specific products? And were you able to pinpoint what was causing those “error parsing query” errors when searching for the product?
