I set up the email parser to grab basic things like name, email, and message from a form submission email and put it into a spreadsheet. The first one worked (almost) perfectly, but the second one put the entire email body into each section of the row. Is this something I did wrong, or does the parser just need to learn?

@goodhue I’m not sure what the issue is with Email Parser, but if you’re processing form submissions, a more reliable solution might be to use the form submission itself as the trigger, instead of the email confirmation. What tool are you using for your form, and have you checked whether it has a Zapier integration with a “new submission” trigger? Most popular form builder tools should support Zapier.

I’m using the forms on squarespace, but I hadnt thought there would be such an integration. I’ll take a look.

@goodhue yup, there is - give this a try:

That would be the best option, unfortunately it requires a premium account to generate the API key to use the feature.

@goodhue ah, I hate it when that happens. In that case, could you share some screenshots of how you have the email parser configured, so I can try and help troubleshoot?

Here is how I’ve got it set up. The email gets forwarded from our inbox to the zapier inbox, then uploaded to a spreadsheet.

@goodhue i meant the parser step itself, since I’m guessing that’s where the issues are. Could you share a screenshot of how you’ve set that up?

I’m not sure I understand. Do you mean on the zap itself? There isn’t much there. And the parser part in the dashboard is just highlighting the fields you want to keep. I’ll include that.

@goodhue sorry - I meant a screenshot of how you have your email template set up and the fields mapped in https://parser.zapier.com.

It should look something like this:

Hey @goodhue, just checking in! Did DennisWF’s or Troy’s replies help you get things sorted here?

Want to make sure you’re all set, so please let us know whether you still need any help! 🙂
