Hi,

We have installed Zapier recently and try to establish a Zap between a Linked In lead form and an automated mail flow in Spotler. First, it used to work, but the emails are not sent any more and the fields of the form seem to be overwritten in the report of Spotler every time a form was filled in.

However, the campaign, when tested in Zapier, gives a positive response. Can anybody help me out here what could be going on?

The data entered in the form (question 5, email address) is literally taken from one time when the form was filled in, how do I take care that this changes every time somebody fills in the form?

The email address and extern ID (this is the report from Spotler about the sent emails) shows the same every time, although the time of the filling of the form (trigger date) differs, see the next screenshot. Every time it shows also the extern ID (time somebody filled in the lead form) as one and the same.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @OOM

Zaps work while turned ON for new data going forward.

Have you tried turning the Zap ON and testing live?

Then check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you trace the data flow to troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Each time the Zap Runs the mapped variable for the Email Address field will dynamically change.

When I try the history, it indeed shows me that the Zap did not run. When I try the troubleshooting, it says I have to change the value into something else with email, namely {{LinkedInLeadGenFormsCLIAPI__questions__Work email}}. When I try to change it into this value, it cannot find anything… How to proceed now? I want to take the general value from the email instead of a specific value… but can't seem to find how.

This Spotler Mail+ step hit an error

Required field "E-mailadres" (email) is missing.

Zapier's AI-powered troubleshooting searches for and summarizes content from our Help Center. It may add AI-generated context to results. This feature is in beta and may return incorrect results.

The error you're encountering indicates that the "E-mailadres" (email) field is missing in the data being sent to the SpotlerCLIAPI step. This is likely because the placeholder {{270819424__questions__5}} in your input data is not being correctly populated with an email address from the previous step. In the output data from the LinkedInLeadGenFormsCLIAPI step, the email address is stored under the key "Work email" within the "questions" object. To resolve this, you need to ensure that the correct data mapping is set up in your Zap.

To fix this, go to the Zap editor and check the data mapping for the SpotlerCLIAPI step. Specifically, ensure that the "email" field is mapped to the correct variable from the LinkedInLeadGenFormsCLIAPI step. You should replace {{270819424__questions__5}} with the correct reference to the "Work email" field, which might look something like {{LinkedInLeadGenFormsCLIAPI__questions__Work email}}. This will ensure that the email address is correctly passed to the SpotlerCLIAPI step, resolving the error.

@OOM

If you have Zap Run history activity, for us to have more info, post screenshots showing the DATA IN/OUT for each step: https://zapier.com/app/history/

You can add a Filter step to check that the variable from Zap step 1 that is mapped to the email address field has a value: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/integrations#help

Here I have screenshots of what the history and help me fix it shows. Hopefully you can help me with this!

@OOM

For the same Zap Run history details, post screenshots showing the DATA OUT from the Zap step 1 trigger.

Hi there @OOM! 👋

How did you get on with this—did you manage to get the emails passed from LinkedIn over to Spotler correctly? If you did, would you be up for sharing what the solution was? This would be super helpful to others that might be having similar trouble in their Zaps. 🙏

And if not, can you share some screenshots as Troy mentioned of the Data Out section of the trigger on a recent run of the Zap so we can check whether there’s a different LinkedIn field that contains the email address? Make sure to blur or remove all personal information (names, emails, addresses etc.) from screenshots before sharing - you can use a tool like Zappy for that.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
